U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton responded to Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson’s comments about Muslims on social media Monday.
“Can a Muslim be President of the United States of America?” Clinton tweeted, with a picture of the Constitution. “In a word: Yes.”
Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, said Sunday, “I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation,” which is a comment he has stood by despite the criticism he’s received.
Here’s Clinton’s tweet:
Can a Muslim be President of the United States of America? In a word: Yes. Now let’s move on.
