Egyptian Supreme Council for Textile Industries targets signing cooperation agreement with China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) on establishing textile zone in Minya governorate within three months.
The Vice-president of the Council Mohamed Kassem told Amwal Al Ghad Tuesday that the agreement will be also signed with the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI).
In May 2016, Egyptian Textile Industries Council and CNTAC signed a framework agreement on executive steps of establishing comprehensive zone for textile industries in Minya governorate.
Kassem – also the head of Ready-Made Garments Export Council- stated that the zone is set to be built on the space of 1.3 million square meters, adding that the next step after signing the agreement is providing mechanisms for developing and utilising the area on which the zone will be built.
The official clarified that Egyptian and Chinese firms will be charged with the utilising works that expected to be finished within two years.
