Egyptian chemical exports recorded 10.2 billion Egyptian pounds (US$1.1 billion) in January-May 2016 versus 9 billion pounds a year earlier, marking a 1.2 billion pounds-increase.
Chairman of Egyptian Chemical Export Council (CEC), Khaled Abou El Makarem stated Tuesday that fertilizers products led the list of sector’s exports since fertilizers exports rose by 1.1 billion pounds to record 2.05 billion pounds during the first five months of 2016.
The CEC clarified that exports of paper products reached 1.5 billion pounds by the end of May 2016 while detergents exports hit around 650.17 million pounds at the same period.
On other side, Chemical Council is scheduled to hold a meeting to showcase latest developments in chemical sector’s exports, problems facing exporters, in addition to discussing its plan for the coming period.
