CBE releases banknote in Braille

by Sama Mousa

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued new banknotes with Braille on the side to help visually impaired people identify the money. The new banknotes are made from polymer material (plastic).

The Braille banknotes are released in the EGP 20 banknote, which has a photo of Mohammed Ali Mosque and King Ramses II war wheel.

Egypt established a new banknote press in the New Administrative Capital, and it is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa, printing polymer banknotes.

The Braille alphabet is expected to be added to all Egyptian Pounds banknotes.
