FinTech Egypt initiative powered by Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has released the first Digital Academy, to become Egypt’s Center of Excellence for the financial, banking and FinTech sector.

The Academy will be specialising in the development of technical and technological skills for banking, financial professionals and emerging fintech companies to empower them with the right skills to be digital financial ready.

Digital academy will launch its first work with its pilot program in Q1 of 2023, which is the Innovator Program, in cooperation with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) and the Center for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE).

The Innovator six-month intensive programme is designed to empower trainees through learning from highly qualified experts about artificial intelligence in finance, open banking, and digital payments, CBE said.

This came as a part of the CBE’s strategy for fintech and innovation, which aims to transform Egypt into an Arab and African fintech industry hub in line with Egypt’s Digital Vision 2030.

In the past few years, the CBE has launched several initiatives aimed supporting young cadres and raising the level of digital financial awareness, including the FinYology initiative that launched in February 2020.
