The Egyptian banking sector’s investments in treasury bills surged by EGP 257 million, registering EGP 357.31 billion at the end of April 2012, up from EGP 357.05 billion at the end of March 2012, according to the Central Bank of Egypt’s report.
Banks’ investments in 91-day treasury bills increased by EGP 2.2 billion, amounting to EGP 5 billion at the end of April, up from EGP 2.70 billion at the end of March.
Banks’ investments in 182-day treasury bills retreated to EGP 81.94 billion in April, down from EGP 86.470 billion in March.
Banks’ investments in 364-day treasury bills was up to EGP 77.1 billion at the end of April, up from EGP 73.6 billion at the end of March.
