The total value of Egyptian banks’ securities reached around EGP830 billion at the end of July 2014 including investments in stakes, treasury bonds and mutual fund policies compared to EGP825.5 billion at July 2013, move up by EGP4.5 billion according to the latest reports of Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Governmental sector’s stake in portfolio is 92.6% (EGP768 billion), private business sector ranked second with 4.8% (EGP40.4 billion), public foreign sector ranked third with EGP20.2 billion in addition to public business sector worth EGP563 million.
Furthermore, investments in local currency are about EGP720.6 billion at July against EGP109.4 billion in foreign currency.
