Bupa targets boosting Egypt market share

British private healthcare firm Bupa intends to boost its market share in Egypt in the coming period, managing director of Bupa Egypt Insurance told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

Bupa Egypt Insurance currently enjoys a 43 percent market share in the Egyptian medical insurance sector.

Sherif ElGhatrifi further said his company plans to upgrade its products and devise new insurance policies in a bid to allure new clients and eventually increase its market share in Egypt.

According to initial indicators, Bupa Egypt registered premiums of 500 million Egyptian pounds ($56.3 million) throughout the financial year 2015-2016, ElGhatrifi revealed.

Bupa Egypt also plans to raise its capital in the coming period, he added.
