Egyptian exports of building materials hiked by 69 percent in April 2016 to record 3.49 billion Egyptian pounds (US$392.7 million) compared to the same period of 2015.
Chairman of Egyptian Export Council for Building Materials, Walid Gamal Eldin stated Saturday that this increase was due to the procedures adopted by trade ministry to enhance exports besides removing obstacles facing industrial sector notably power shortage.
He added that the council conducted a plan depending on collaborating with Lebanese business council immigrated to Africa to increase building materials exports within the upcoming months.
The council is set to participate in promotional campaigns this month to Côte d’Ivoire and Congo in cooperation with the Lebanese side.
Chairman Gamal Eldin also stated that the council plans to activate relations with Gulf states that witness large real estate projects , thus, creating opportunities for Egyptian building materials to grow.
