Britney Spears has officially signed a £9.3 million deal to serve as the new superstar judge on Simon Cowell’s U.S. talent show The X Factor, according to a report.
Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that the Toxic hit maker is in talks to take a seat alongside Cowell and producer Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid on the TV panel – and now insiders tell E! Online that Spears has finally committed to the series.
A source tells the website, “The contract is signed. There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited.
“She’s ready for this. She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together.”
Another female star is expected to be announced imminently. The two newcomers will replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger as judges following their exit after season one last year.
