Ahead of mid-March landmark economic summit, a minor cabinet reshuffle in Egypt has just been made on Thursday. Ministries affected by the reshuffle were those of interior affairs, education, housing, culture, tourism, agriculture and communications.
Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim, who is in charge of nation’s police, was replaced by another police general, Magdy Abdel-Ghafar.
Abdelfghaffar is a retired general who used to be director of the National Security Department at the ministry, a security source said.
The eight newly-appointed ministers have taken oath today before Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
In the reshuffle, two new ministries in charge of technical education and population affairs have been formed.
