An improvised explosive device detonated early Sunday in Egypt’s Nile Delta Menoufiya governorate, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The blast apparently targeted a Vodafone shop in Shebein El-Koum city. A recent wave of attacks have targeted mobile network provider stores.
No casualties were reported as a result of the bomb.
Last week five improvised bombs, planted beneath cars, exploded in Cairo’s working class Matariya district, also near Vodafone and Mobinil shops, destroying the two store facades in addition to others nearby.
Similarly, three bombs exploded on 26 February in greater Cairo’s Mohandiseen area, targeting two Vodafone and one Etisalat stores.
Egypt has been witnessing a rise in bomb attacks against civilian targets after assailants mainly targeted police and army sites.
