Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert in Stockholm last month led to a surge in hotel and restaurant prices as tens of thousands of fans flocked to the city, Michael Grahn, a Danske Bank chief economist, said on Wednesday.
Beyoncé’s fans have swarmed hotels in the Swedish city while attending the opening of the singer’s first world tour in seven years, causing an increase in the country’s inflation rate of 0.2 percent.
“Beyoncé is responsible for the extra upside surprise this month. It’s quite astonishing for a single event. We haven’t seen this before,” Grahn added.
Forbes has estimated that Beyoncé will garner $2.1 billion by the end of her tour, $500 million more than what Taylor Swift is expected to make from her Eras Tour.
