All banks in Egypt have taken the required precautionary procedures to reduce the expected overcrowding on ATMs on the days of Eid El-Adha holiday.
Managers of some banks said they will supply the ATMs with funds on a daily basis so as to meet the customers’ requirements during the holiday, in addition to taking all security measures to thwart theft attempts.
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) ordered its employees to facilitate the banking transactions amid overcrowdings before Eid El-Adha, said Ayman Toulan, head of branches at NBE.
From EGP 250,000 to EGP 350,000 will be injected to ATMs on a daily basis, he added, noting that some of the ATMs may be injected with funds twice a day.
Toulan ascertains the importance of fostering security measures on holidays, noting that security officers will be present inside and outside the bank.
