British drugmaker AstraZeneca raised its growth target for its 2021 sales in Egypt to 20 percent, up from 16 percent target set three months ago.

In 2020, the company reported a 4.9 percent growth in its sales in Egypt to 1.6 billion Egyptian pounds ($101.7 million), its country chief executive Hatem Al-Wardani told Amwal Al Ghad on Sunday.

By the end of this year, the company plans around 1.92 billion pounds of sales in Egypt, Al-Wardani said.

“The company made around 500 million pounds of investments in Egypt reached last year, and is setting its strategy for the upcoming five years,” Al-Wardani added.
