Asian markets briefing 19/05/2023

The majority of the Asian markets closed low on Friday with the Chinese main index, SSEC, falling by -0.42 percent. The index lost 13.78 points to reach a closing value of 3,283.54.

Japan’s main index, Nikkei 225, soared by 0.77 percent to 30,808.35 and gained 234.42 points.

HSI, Hong Kong’s main index, inched down by -1.40 percent and lost 276.68 points  to close at 19,450.57.
