Arab Contractors to deliver US$150 million Iraqi Power Plant at 2015-end

Egypt’s Arab Contractors is planning to deliver an electric power plant in the capital of Iraq, Baghdad by end of the current year. The investment cost of the Iraqi plant amounts to US$150 million.

The Iraqi electric plant is one of the biggest projects being implemented by Arab Contractors in the country, AC’s First Vice Chairman Sayed Farouk stated.

The vice chairman further told Amwal Al Ghad that Arab Contractors carries out the Iraqi project through a consortium with Elsewedy Electric (SWDY), the leading wire cable and integrated energy solution provider in the Middle East and Africa.

Arab Contractors is targeting other international consortia, seeking to award more infrastructure projects currently being offered in Iraq, Farouk noted.

Arab Contractors, Egypt’s leading construction firm, exists in 9 Arab states, notably Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, and Jordan in addition to 16 African markets, mainly Congo, Ethiopia, Chad, and Nigeria.
