The leading Cairo-based construction firm, Arab Contractors is to finalise next year a road project in Al-Jahra, 32 kilometres (20 mi) west of Kuwait City in Kuwait.
The Al-Jahra Road Project is with a total investment cost estimated at 6.7 billion Egyptian pounds (US$877.8 million).
Mohsen Salah, Chairman of Arab Contractors, said the project is divided into five sequential phases, with total lengths of 142 kilometres.
The Jahra road in its original state has been one of the core transport routes running through the heart of Kuwait, and was witnessing exceedingly busy traffic lines with consistently rising numbers of users. The Ministry of Public Works has undertaken strategic plans to improve motorways and transport infrastructure in Kuwait, the Jahra Road Development Project is one key project which will transform the simple three lane road into a grand unified highway.
The Jahra road project’s completion rate has exceeded 75 percent, Salah said.
Arab Contractors has carried out a group of major projects in Kuwait, notably Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Hospital and the Police Academy.
