News were circulated yesterday that both Ali Shaker, CEO of Egyptian Gulf Bank (EGB), and Saeed Zaki, member of the bank’s board of directors, resigned.
Sources said Mohamed El-Atreby, chairman of Egyptian Arab Land Bank (EALB), is the most likely one to head EGB after Shaker’s resignation. Abdel Megid Mohey El-Din, deputy chairman of EALB, will be promoted to be the chairman of the bank, if the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) approves.
Sources affirmed that El-Atreby is also nominated to hold the CBE’s governor position.
