Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reiterated the need for a global transformation towards establishing a new world order based on valuing the rights of all nations.

“Everyone must strive to establish a just order on the basis of respecting the rights of all nations across the globe [and one] in which every nation can be independent and decide on its own path of progress,” Ahmadinejad said in a Wednesday meeting in Tehran with South Korea’s new ambassador to the Islamic Republic, Sung Wung Yeub.

The Iranian president also described the friendship between Iran and South Korea as “historic and deep,” pointing to the cultural commonalities in which human relations are of utmost significance.

Underlining Iran’s interest in enhancing comprehensive ties with South Korea, President Ahmadinejad emphasized that both nations have always opposed dominance, oppression and discrimination in international relations and have persistently sought independence, peace and justice for all.

The Iranian president also reiterated that there is no limit in expanding ties with South Korea, describing both nations as potent and able to overcome all obstacles.

Submitting his diplomatic credentials, the South Korean envoy pointed to the many shared cultural traits between the two countries and said there are huge potentials for expanding the Tehran-Seoul ties.

President Ahmadinejad also met with Somalia’s new Ambassador to Tehran Khalif Kadieh Musa on Wednesday and described the ties between the two nations as “brotherly and friendly.”

He also reiterated the Islamic Republic’s support for Somalia’s progress in various fields and expressed Iran’s willingness to share its experience and expertise with the people of Somalia, especially in the fields of healthcare, energy, transportation and urban development.

The Somali envoy, for his part, pointed to the long history of ties between Tehran and Mogadishu and said his nation looks up to the Islamic Republic as an elder brother and desires an all-out enhancement of bilateral relations, particularly in the area of healthcare.
