Administrative Development & Communications Ministries Merge

by Administrator

Eng. Hany Mahmoud, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the Ministry will hold an extensive meeting with officials of the Ministry of State for Administrative Development Sunday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice. The meeting will include setting a plan for the Ministry of State for Administrative development, which will carry out its project under the supervision of the Ministry of  Communications and Information Technology.

Mahmoud added that he has conducted several calls with Ashraf Abdelwahab, the Acting Minister of Administrative development to discuss the future plans of the ministry during the upcoming period, especially because it is responsible for developing and updating the state administrative agency for all sectors.

On the other hand, employees at the Ministry of State for Administrative Development welcomed this merger, highlighting the need to end the fuzzy situation which the ministry has been witnessing since the formation of the recent cabinet, and especially because four successive governments including Ahmed Shafik, Essam Sharaf, Kamal El Ganzouri, and Hesham Kandil did not name a Minister of Administrative Development in their government formations.

The Ministry staff led a protest last week in front of the Ministry’s headquarter in Nasr City against the new government which did not include a Minister of Administrative Development. Protesters also pointed out that the ministry has managed to  achieve a breakthrough in electronic services and won the United Nations Public Service Award for organizing the parliamentary and presidential elections.
