During Tuesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has started profit-taking deals phase as it posted early losses of EGP 2.07 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 403.925 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 11:00 a.m. Cairo time (09:00 GMT).
The EGX indices started correction levels opening in red.
The main index, EGX30 tumbled by 0.95% to hit 5829.8 p. EGX20 inched lower by 0.79% to reach 6871.99 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 fell by 0.89% to hit 566.63 pts. Price index EGX100 dropped by 0.90% to reach 930.64 p.
Traded volume reached 10.640 million securities worth EGP 46.573 million, exchanged 2.642 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 104 listed securities; 77 declined 17 advanced while 10 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians were net buyers seizing 79.75% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.510 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners started profit-taking process as they were net sellers seizing 11.74% and 8.51% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.347 million and EGP 4.163 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock soared by 8.62% to hit EGP 0.63.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) climbed by 1.02% to hit EGP 3.97.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) sank by 2.62% to reach EGP 12.63.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) fell by 1.85% to reach EGP 5.30.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) dropped by 1.25% to reach EGP 296.00.
Commercial International Bank:
Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) went down by 0.96% to hit EGP 34.21.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) declined by 0.26% to hit EGP 3.78.
