Liverpool’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah was dropped from the final squad that will face Manchester United in a Premier League clash on Sunday.
The 27-year-old sustained an ankle injury during the Reds’ 2-1 win over Leicester City on 5 October due to a nasty challenge from midfielder Hamza Choudhury.
On Tuesday, Salah seemed set to overcome the injury after re-joining training, only to be sidelined ahead of the United match.
“Mo was not ready,” Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports. “He could not train with the team.
“Pretty much (he had) no chance for today but maybe for Wednesday we will see.”
Klopp opted for Belgian forward Divock Origi to fill the void left by the Egypt international.
