Egypt is the best place for entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Africa, said president of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) on Tuesday.
“What better place is there to celebrate entrepreneurship than Egypt; the land of the builders of the pyramids, the ones who were entrepreneurial before the term was even coined.” Geralyn Franklin said at the ICSB World Congress 2019 taking place in Cairo.
Having 5,000 members from 85 countries worldwide, ICSB is the first of its kind organisation to serve the small and medium-sized projects, and most recently entrepreneurship, Franklin said. It enjoys a great support from various organisations and corporations, including the United Nations, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and Facebook, she added.
ICSB plans to issue its journal by 2020 to act as a reference for the SMEs across the globe, Franklin said.
Egypt is the first African country to host the ICSB World Congress this year. It is taking in Cairo between June 18th – June 21st.
