Egypt purchases 235,000 tonnes of Russian wheat

The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has bought 235,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in a global auction, traders told Reuters on Wednesday.

The authority requests the shipment of the wheat to be during the period from 25 October to 4 November.

Several countries participated in the global auction that took place on Tuesday including the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Poland, Argentina, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Paraguay.

In the previous wheat auction on September 5, the authority purchased 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat to be shipped from 21 to 30 October.
