Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli issued a decision on Tuesday appointing Mohsen Adel as new chief executive of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) for one year.
Adel has more than 19 years of experience in stock markets and securities. He was a member in the advisory economic council for the presidency.
He served as vice chairman of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) since July 2017. He served as vice chairman of the Egyptian Association for Finance and Investment Studies (EGFIN), member of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority’s (EFSA) Advisory Committee and board member at the Financial Service Institute (FSI). Adel also occupied several leadership positions at securities companies and mutual funds over 19 years.
Adel obtained a bachelor degree in commerce and business administration from Helwan University in 1999, then got another degree in economics and political science from Cairo University in 2001. He holds a diploma as a capital market analyst.
