Government pays LE4.250 bn, rest of the contractors’ dues

Engineer/ Abd El Nasser Aglan, PR manager of Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors, stated that the contractors’ financial dues crisis has started to move towards its right path and would be resolved soon, after the meeting of Dr. Hassan Abd El Aziz head of the federation with the prime minister Dr. Kamal El Ganzoury, and it was agreed that the government should pay the contractors the rest of their dues, amounting 4.25 billion pounds, through the time frame decided by the Council of Ministers.


He revealed that the head of the federation has obtained 3.750 billion of a total due amount of 8 billon, adding that such payments were received on three installments. The first was issued by the former Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, then an amount of 1.250 billion was obtained from El Ganzoury dedicated to the national authority of water and sewage, and the third was dedicated to the ministry of housing with the amount of 1.5 billion to be distributed among different contractual companies.
