The European Commission said Wednesday it had opened an anti-dumping investigation into ferrosilicon imports originating from Egypt and Ukraine.
The Commission said the complaint was lodged on June 19, 2017, by the association of European ferro-alloy producers, Euroalliages, on behalf of four EU producers: France-based Ferropem (a subsidiary of Ferroglobe), Spain’s Ferroatlantica (now Ferroglobe), OFZ Slovakia, and Huta Laziska in Poland.
The investigation will cover July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, the commission further said in a Wednesday statement.
“The investigation will determine whether the product under investigation originating in the countries concerned is being dumped and whether the dumped imports have caused injury to the Union industry,” the statement said.
