Egypt condemned Tuesday’s “terrorist attack” in central Istanbul that killed 11 people and left 36 injured.
A car bomb ripped through an anti-riot police bus, killing seven police officers and four civilians.
A foreign ministry spokesperson said in a statement that Egypt “stands by the Turkish people in this crucial moment.”
He also expressed Egypt’s condolences to the families’ victims and wishes for a fast recovery for the injured.
Turkish police detained four people who are suspected of having carried out the attack.
No entity has claimed the attack. But Kurdish militants and the Islamic State militant group have carried out attacks in Turkey, including Istanbul, in the past year.
