Egypt’s SFD allocates French Development Agency’s €13mn grant to upgrade slums

Egypt’s Social Fund for Development (SFD) has recently received the French Development Agency’s (AFD) €13 million (US$14.6 million) grant, the Egyptian fund’s official announced Monday.

The grant will be directed to finance the development of four slums, , Medhat Massoud, Head of SFD’s Central Sector for Human and Community Development, told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

The four slums will witness upgrade of road, sanitation, and water networks, he added.

The Central Sector for Human and Community Development (HCD) is responsible for managing the Labor Intensive Investment Project.
