NBE: US Dollar records 8.95 Egyptian pounds

The value of the US dollar has recorded 8.90 Egyptian pounds for purchase and 8.95 pounds for sale, the head of the National Bank of Egypt told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

This comes after Egypt’s central bank has launched earlier Monday an exceptional foreign exchange auction worth $200 million.

Yehia Aboul Fotouh, NBE Executive Board Member, further said the bank, in cooperation with Banque Misr had offered Monday Egyptian pound investment certificates with a 15 percent yield in return for foreign currency.
