Second annual Builders of Egypt Forum kicks off

Under the rubric “A Road to develop National Projects”, the second edition of the Annual Builders of Egypt Forum has just taken place in Cairo Monday. It aims to discuss the world’s latest technologies in the construction industry and how to benefit from them locally.

Under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Egyptian former prime minister and presidential aide Ibrahim Mahlab alongside Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar, Minister of Planning Ashraf Al-Araby, Minister of Transportation Saad El-Gioushy, and Minister of Manpower Gamal Sorour have inaugurated the forum.

Egyptian government representatives and over 1,000 regional and global agents of distinct decision makers involving banking, construction, building materials, real estate development and project management sectors will attend the event.

‘Brazil’; a guest of honour

Brazil is the state guest of honour for the Builders of Egypt Forum. Ruy Amaral, Brazil Ambassador to Egypt, as well as Brazilian officials will take part in the forum to demonstrate Brazil’s successful experience to overcome the informal settlements and slums.

Egypt’s construction sector is witnessing a significant recovery, said Hassan Abdel Aziz – Chairman of the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC).

The second edition of the Annual Builders of Egypt Forum, running between March 1 and 2, is being held today in line with the Egyptian construction firms’ plans to develop and expand their businesses. The event represents an opportunity for the Egyptian contractors to showcase their demands before the state.

Builders of Egypt aims to view the country’s vision for the construction sector in the coming phase alongside to support the local firms to boost their volume of businesses in the country, the Egyptian official said.

Additionally, the forum is set to explore the construction firms’ demands to change the current legislations, Abdel Aziz stated.

Local construction firms and representatives of construction sector have to be a key partner with the government in changing the legislative system, Abdel Aziz added.

Organised by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors and the Cairo-based PR agency, Excellent Communications, Builders of Egypt is the first of its kind forum to discuss the challenges haunting the Egyptian construction sector.
