Egyptian stock market edged higher on Wednesday attaining gains estimated at 4 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 510.8 million) on local and Arab buying appetite.
The market capitalisation recorded 396.657 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 jumped by 0.96 percent to 6066.54 points.
The EGX50 EWI index went up by 0.67 percent to 1107.56 points.
EGX20 rose by 1.02 percent to 6157.82 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted by 0.30 percent to 350.25 points. The price index, EGX100 increased by 0.55 percent to 707.57 points.
Turnovers
On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 173.220 million securities, with turnovers closed at 651.098 million pounds, exchanged through 21,937 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 165 listed securities have been traded in; 45 declined, 78 advanced; while 37 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers on Wednesday seizing 89.42% and 2.19% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 22.090 million pounds and 2.731 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, the foreign investors were net sellers getting 8.39% of the total market, with a net equity of 24.821 million pounds, excluding the deals.
