Egypt’s bourse concluded higher Wednesday with gains worth 3.6 billion Egyptian pounds (around US$ 460 million) on local and Arab investors’ buying appetite.
Market capitalisation has reached 389.547 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 surged 1.09 percent to 5960.59 points.
EGX50 EWI index edged up 1.15 percent to 1088.96 points.
EGX20 grew 1.51 percent to 6027.28 points.
On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 rose 0.13 percent to 355.87 points. The price index, EGX100 went up 0.60 percent 714 points.
Turnovers weak
On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume hit 199.916 million securities, with turnovers closed at 887.598 million pounds, exchanged through 23,686 transactions.
Also during the closing session, 175 listed securities have been traded in; 40 declined, 78 advanced; while 51 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local and Arab investors were net buyers Wednesday seizing 78.75 percent and 9.3 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 45.262 million pounds and 41.664 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, foreign investors were net sellers getting 11.94 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 86.927 million pounds, excluding the deals.
