Egypt’s stock market slightly higher Thursday with gains amounting to 703 million Egyptian pounds (US$89.8 million) pushed by local investors’ buying appetite.
Market capitalisation has recorded 425.236 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased 0.07 percent to 6806.67 points.
The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index went up 0.46 percent to 1151.97 points.
EGX20 grew 0.24 percent to 6583.23 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 hiked 0.81 percent to 365.33 points. The price index, EGX100 rose 0.08 percent 787.14 points.
Turnovers low
On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 187.314 million securities, with turnovers closed at 457.208 million pounds, exchanged through 17,529 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 164 listed securities have been traded in; 36 declined, 81 advanced; while 43 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local investors were net buyers capturing 63.83 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 98.114 million pounds, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Arab and foreign investors were net sellers Thursday getting 6.26 percent and 29.91 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 1.686 million pounds and 96.427 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
