Egyptian Bourse ends in Green Notes, posts $191mln Gains

Egypt’s stock market edged higher Wednesday with gains worth 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 191.5 million).

The market capitalisation reached 488.236 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 0.47 percent to 8087.24 points.

EGX20 rose by 0.23 percent to 8106.55 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 went up by 1.97 percent to 445.74 points. The price index, EGX100 surged by 1.10 percent to 918.27 points.

Turnovers

On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 170.933 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 619.012 million, exchanged through 22,057 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 167 listed securities have been traded in; 23 declined, 105 advanced; while 34 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and non-Arab investors were net buyers on Wednesday seizing 78.94 % and 9.88% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 59.621 million and EGP 38.898 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Arab investors were net sellers getting 11.18% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 98.520 million, excluding the deals.
