Egyptian Stocks start the Week with US$354mln-Losses

Egypt’s stocks went down on Sunday with losses worth 2.77 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 353.8 million).

The market capitalization has reached 495.224 billion pounds during the closing session of Sunday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 declined by 0.59 percent to 8728.8 points.

EGX20 edged lower 1.12 percent to 9098.9 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dropped by 0.36 percent to 461.95 points.

The price index, EGX100 went down by 0.37 percent to 975.01 points.

Turnovers low

On Sunday, the bourse’s trading volume has registered 114.335 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 532.221 million, exchanged through 15.588 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 167 listed securities have been traded in; 86 declined, 37 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Arab investors were net sellers on Sunday getting 92.45 % and 2.99% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 21.750 million and EGP 6.636 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Non- Arab investors were net buyers capturing 4.56% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 28.387 million, excluding the deals.
