Egypt Calls On Germany To Boost Cooperation In Human Rights, Terror Fight

Egypt has `called on Germany to boost bilateral cooperation in protecting human rights and combating terror, Assistant Foreign Minister Hisham Badr said.

Badr met in Cairo with the German government’s human rights commissioner Markus Loning.

Badr said his meeting with Loning was part of the ministry’s efforts to reach out to the international community regarding the situation of human rights in Egypt.

He said Loning’s visit to Egypt now was so important after the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Germany appreciates Egypt which is reflected in the growing economic cooperation between the two countries as well as Germany’s interest in following up closely human rights condition in Egypt, Badr quoted Loning as saying.

He added that the German official stressed his country’s keenness on backing Egypt in the human rights field.
