An official source in National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) revealed that the new tax law for increasing the prices of mobile services has not discussed by NTRA till now.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad the source added that issuing the law needs to be approved by the Authority as it is the authorized body of telecommunications.
Any increase in mobile services won’t be issued until NTRA will approve on it, the source added.
In a statement issued by Finance Ministry, it expected that the growth rate of tax on mobile service reaches 60% to reach up EGP6.3 billion against EGP3.96 billion at May-end.
Moreover, Mobile operators are expecting that the services will raise within the upcoming months amid fuel price rise.
