Egypt Telecom Says ‘Broadband’ Phase I Worth EGP 250 Mln Investments

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egyptian Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), said the high-speed internet project ‘broadband’ will be launched within days in Egypt in coordination with National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) worth EGP 250 million as a first phase.

The Minister added during his inauguration for many projects in ICT fields in Alexandria that many new services will be provided in villages, hamlets and marginalized places, through a timetable which will be appointed within the coming period.

Helmy has emphasized that these applications, programs and new services will comprise all fields including electricity and water bills, cars and driving licenses, birth certificates, death certificates and health insurance services.
