Egypt’s MCIT Eyes Revenues Worth EGP 96 Bln In FY/13

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egypt’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister, said the Ministry is targeting revenues worth EGP 96 billion for the ICT sector within the coming fiscal year 2013-2014, pointing out that the telecommunication services acquire EGP 76 billion from this targeted value.

The Minister further added on the sidelines of the conference which has held by the (MCIT) to display its strategy within the coming period.

The ICT sector is currently achieving about EGP 65 billion, noting that this value contributes with EGP 48 billion 3.1% of the GDP.

The Helmy has referred to the need for getting benefit from the outsourcing services in which 18500 employees worked, explaining that the ministry seeks to provide 250.000 job opportunities within the coming period.
