Government support is crucial for the global outreach of the automotive industry, said Ahmed Fikri Abdel Wahab, vice president of the African Association of Automobile Manufacturers (AAAM), on Saturday.
Fikri added that without this support, reaching clients worldwide is a considerable challenge.
“This is a journey, and it is an objective,” he noted, emphasizing the importance of building value chains.
In Egypt, in September 2021, the value towards building value chains started, and took almost two years, he added.
“After three years of very serious and hard work to develop this consultation, it was the fractures of consultation with trade agreements,” he said.
He called on African countries to benefit from Egypt’s experience.
His remarks were made during the African Automotive Show, which kicked off on Saturday at the third edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair, IATF2023.
