Egypt plans to choose a winning bid in early August of this year from among 15 companies competing to develop an Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) in the country’s new administrative capital.
Earlier this year, the state-run Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), the owner and developer of the new capital city project, has launched the bid, which entails establishing intelligent traffic signals, smart bus and electric car charging stations, among other services.
The number of bidders who submitted the offers vying to win the tender rose from 11 to 15, Mohammed Khalil, ACUD’s chief technology officer told Amwal Al Ghad on Sunday.
There are foreign companies among the bidders, Khalil added.
Khalil said in previous statement that among the companies vying to win the bid are Hassan Allam, Orascom Construction, Elsewedy Electric, Etisalat Misr, Telecom Egypt, Giza Systems, Fiber Misr Systems (FMS), MTI, alka-tec GmbH, Alkan, and SIS Telecom.
