Egypt will deliver natural gas to the New Valley governorate through using compressed natural gas (CNG) technology, its oil minister Tarek El-Molla said on Monday.
This move comes as part of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directives to expand in gas projects to be accessible to more households across all governorates, El-Molla added.
The project’s first phase includes the delivery of gas to 14,000 households in El-Kharga city, located in the New Valley, he said.
Using CNG technology is the optimal solution to deliver gas to the spacious governorate in the light of the current difficulties of linking it to the national grid, El-Molla concluded.
