Egyptian Banks’ Credit Facilities Down To 505.1 Bln In July

The total volume of credit facilities offered by the Egyptian banking sector declined by EGP 1.5 billion (0.3%), registering EGP 505.1 billion last July, down from EGP 506.7 billion last June, according to the latest report released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The value of credit facilities offered to the private business sector declined from EGP 473.1 billion in June to EGP 471.9 billion in July; of which local-currency credit facilities registered EGP 349.1 billion and foreign-currency credit facilities registered EGP 122.8 billion.

The value of credit facilities offered to the public business sector retreated from EGP 33.5 billion in June to EGP 33.1 billion in July; of which local-currency credit facilities registered EGP 14.2 billion and foreign-currency credit facilities registered EGP 18.9 billion.
