Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Thursday he had approved re-naming a main street at the Mediterranean city of Marsa Matrouh, northwest of Cairo, after a quarantine hospital worker who died from coronavirus.

The street was named for Nagi Saleh El-Garary, 51, a warehouse worker at Negelah Quarantine Hospital, who died on Saturday due to complications from the coronavirus.

Mabbouly made his remarks during a video conference with the country’s governors on Thursday.

Negelah was the first hospital designated for quarantining and treating coronavirus patients in Egypt.
