The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Information Technology Industry Development “ITIDA” have agreed upon the association of companies that will be responsible for holding the initiative entitled “Tablet for Each Student. The Ministry is waiting for the Cabinet’s confirmation in order to announce the winning companies.
Eng. Yasser Elkady, CEO of ITIDA, stated that the Cabinet has to state its approval, given that it is in charge of establishing coordination between the different parties that will take part in that initiative, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Education.
In statements to Amwal Al Ghad, he added that ITIDA has informed the tender-winning companies, pointing out that the Cabinet’s confirmation is expected to be issued during this month. He added that the first phase of the project includes manufacturing 10.000 Tablet computers, to be offered to university students.
